Sandy Balls Holiday Village – Store Fit Out

Sandy Balls is an established holiday park, run by Away Resorts, in the heart of the New Forest. It includes a retail store which the owners were looking to update with a more upmarket feel.

Total Design Shopfitting were asked by the project design company, who had drawn up a mood board, to create a vision for the new store and present this to the client including a drawing pack and 3D walkthrough in the presentation. We had a good idea of the look & feel we wanted to create early in the process so we were able to present these soon after the initial brief. We also costed the project at this stage so the client had transparency.

The client was very happy with our ideas and presentation and we were engaged to run a full turnkey package, from concept to complete refit. The project involved a number of companies within the Total Design Group, including our specialist Joinery team. The advantage of have one company doing this is that the finished store is an exact representation of the artwork and visual presentation.

Our design was influenced by environmental factors and cost and featured bespoke reclaimed timber, for a lot of the fittings. For example, the retail counter used timber with a solid surface and the delicatessen was made with the same timber and a stainless steel worktop. All the timber was sourced from sustainable forests and then the units were made in our specialist joinery workshop.

Away Resorts were delighted with the finished store. The project was a six week programme and was completed at the end of March 2022, on time and on budget.
